I've broken my 100k image library into 3 smaller ones (see ). The catalog starts to suffer as it gets larger than, say 50,000 images (but this depends a lot on your hardware, what kind of drives etc). I don't follow the "so If I import picture with lightroom then I can't see the new subfolders in C1pro" problem. I used to use LR and C1P in parallel as well but never had this issue, I just took the images from a shoot, put them in a folder, then ran the import process in both LR and C1P. In C1P I would just suggest that " any time you add a folder, import the folder". With my canon files C1pro seems to deliver a lot of detail and more precise colors.īoy, I'm not sure I understand this. I'm doing that mess only because I'm evaluating C1pro in respect of LR. The only way seems to import with C1pro at first and then once the folders are in the right place, open Lightroom and use the old sync. My problem is raised because I still using Lightroom and C1pro in the same folders, so If I import picture with lightroom then I can't see the new subfolders in C1pro. So maybe I can set-up a watch folder for that ? Id like to have this folder synced, without a new import but with a sync. Yes, I have a folder already imported where all the new picture are copied (in subfolders). No, it happens that sometimes I have to import some new subfolders in folder that still in C1 I have to sync all the new subfolder (that are not visible in C1) I have a folder previously imported with some new subfolder in it. Which folder here? the parent folder or the subfolder? If for some reason I add additional images to an existing folder, then the Synchronize option will pick those up and add them to the C1P database. Repeat after next shoot: new shoot, new folder. With the photos in their new home, I then go into Capture One and hit the import button and import that folder (as referenced images BTW).

I don't personally use C1P to ingest from the camera. I create a new folder for every shoot, taking the images from the camera(s) and put them in that new folder e.g. It will not magically import any subsequently added subfolders. So if you have that option checked and import a folder, it will import all the subfolders which exist AT THAT TIME. The Import subfolders option only works at time of import. but, if instead of adding the 10 new images to the existing folder, you create a new subfolder beneath "\20170214 - family pics" called "\20170214 - family pics\more photos\" then those photos won't magically be imported. If you synchronize at that point, the 10 new images will be found and will appear in CaptureOne (no "import" necessary).

Later on, I add 10 more images to that folder. Let's say you import a folder called "\20170214 - family pics" with 100 images. In my experience, the synchronize options works ONLY for folders already imported.

Is it possible you did an initial import of a folder, then added a subfolder later and never imported that subfolder? When you do the initial import, did the subfolder exist?ĭo you import as referenced files? or do you import them into the C1 database?
